  1. I had a buddy - good guy - who when he was a teenager, had managed to get kicked out of his parents' for being too violent. He had this whole phase with drugs and getting involved with the wrong kinds of people. Calm, very reliable blue collar guy as long as actually knew him, but he did have one anecdote about once having bought swords at House of Knives in the mall with a bunch of other guys out with whom he was hanging at the time, as a teenager living on his own, then sneaking up to this random house in the dead of night with them, with full intent of home invading the people who lived there and robbing them. He didn't end up home invading the homeowners - this was in a gun controlled part of the world, which is why it was swords - but the group sort of had a collective moment of realization of the line they'd be crossing. Moral is, kids do make mistakes. Bad mistakes. Not that I think the homeowner in this case was in the wrong necessarily.
