I am pretty sure he will go down in history for it, as excellent reporting on one of the most significant current news stories.   17. Oliver Stone's 2014 movie "Ukraine on Fire" which documents the history of these neo Nazi groups in Ukraine can be found on Rumble. YouTube may be treading carefully, as it can still be found, but with a warning that it might offend us. Congress should have been forced to watch this and comment before taking action to support this war. Maybe we can think of that movie as a "indicator species" of truthful journalism. It may be too promotable as famous to be taken down, but think of all the smaller fish of whom we have likely never heard.

I contend that is for more than "commentary and feature materials." I think that journalists and planners have a lot in common. When I did something like this, hundreds of people just showed up to help me. It was nothing about me, it is just something they were wishing someone else would do for years. And didn't mention. Great interview. The Espionage Act was written in 1917 for a different purpose, not to put a political structure that gets around the Constitution in place. (It was more something like "snitches get stitches." That's the opposite.) Ironic that Great Britian has redone some of their laws so that this process will go even smoother for them next time.

  54. John Campbell is an excellent resource. I watch him too. I have heard different interpretations of this. I missed the part where he said that measures should be taken if people don't do this voluntarily. I have too much respect for Noam Chomsky to call him a "scared old man" for saying something that I disagree with, even if it is mistaken. I have sometimes considered Noam Chomsky as "almost always right." Perhaps there are facts I have been missing? I respect Max Blumenthal and almost always agree with him too. What do I know? My kids are double vaccinated and still got COVID,. I had not thought of it in this way. It does seem inconsistent with the anarchist I have adored Chomsky for being over the years. Perhaps he would change his mind if he learned that everyone will get it? If he was talking about cameras that could be used to regulate traffic flows, which is surely a good thing and tracking people every minute of every day to give them a social credit rating, that would be a valid point. I used to work with traffic engineers and there was nothing we would disapprove in what they did. That technology could be misused against us, as surveillance though. I don't understand why he tells people to vote blue, but he does say many cogent things in between.

I was a young woman breaking into my career, my boss made a pass at me, I turned him down, and for years after that he said things to try to make me look like an idiot at meetings. It was 1988, and I didn't think anyone else would hire me as an urban planner if I complained. We all knew each other. I thought up what work-arounds I could to get by in the office. I never did get promoted, so I figured out that I could do the things I wanted to accomplish in my career if I did them through my professional organization for free. (Nobody expects that. :)) I think this woman is an idiot. What this has to do with experiences like mine is beyond me. I have sons, and it is hard to imagine that all this doesn't make it even harder to be a young man than in previous generations.

  84. Trudeau's problem here may be that there is a lot of fight back on this from the provinces, who came up with their own plans to meet the goals of the agreement. All but Manitoba have done so. Here in Alberta, a carbon tax recently went into effect. I enjoyed Jane Fonda's comments, but the clips I saw not make clear what she was saying in her protest. Close the oil sands altogether? The reporter may have deliberately avoided airing the parts that might have made this clearer. Our Premier followed her, making a statement to the effect that "She doesn't have her facts straight and she has no business coming up here and telling us what to do." I suddenly realized (from their comments) that many of my friends are climate deniers. Alberta is the closest thing we have to a "Canadian Texas." Yikes.

But, recently, I was surprised to get a young woman speaking English with an African accent and wondered if it resulted from the BRI plan for Africa. It will bring many people to the internet for the first time. So, please think of the opportunities it will provide the African people compared to the colonialism they have endured. The Chinese will inevitably protect their infrastructure investments from us. When I think of the most likely saboteurs of Nordstream 2, they are correct in defensive thinking. The BRI includes 43 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, 35 in Europe and Central Asia, 25 in East India and the Pacific, 20 in Latin America and the Caribbean, 18 in there MIddle East and North Africa and 6 in Southeast Asia. It seems delusional to imagine that the world won't be dotted with Chinese military bases. We don't know the results yet, but it could prevent many conflicts we see today.

It seems likely that only a few news companies have corporate policies, and those eager young reporters are often sidetracked by mortgages and children to support. At least, that's how it works in urban planning. My guess is that many of them admire real journalism and would love to practice it themselves if they didn't face structural limitations.

Some would have been liars, though. We would have at least proven what was correct subjectively though. Look at the source data get everyone in a room and talk about how to do it. Logic will usually sin in that discussion, but they will lie to you about what they believe. And give you bad projections that were no accident. This is excellent and does not surprise. Our models helped us to understand these things only if everyone tells the truth like a scientist. They are only a theoretical construct. Why do it if you don't put in real data? You can calibrate assumptions, but not facts. Challenging the assumptions would have been revealing in the projections model to begin with, as it sometimes reveals through both covert and overt lies. With an adequate peer review process this may not have happened. Let me guess. They pretend to have one?

Watch out that you don't have a prepayment penalty, though. If I had to guess the 1% the first year and somewhat low rates for at least the first few years is a result of government regulation. My son's elementary school let anyone who wanted on the basketball team and lost to other teams all over town. These problems are not solved merely by throwing money at them. How would we calibrate the needs of each student as we should? Like it or not, the greatest predictor of academic achievement is family income. When I think of my family, who came to Canada as immigrants, they worked their asses off and defied the odds. They became strong, had character and ambition. I admire them for becoming that way by overcoming obstacles. It is a different world that we live in today.

  532. Jordan Peterson downplays the notion that there could be Nazis in Canada. It seems likely that there are people like this in any group of over a thousand people, or is it a hundred? Here in Edmonton, we have many connections to Ukraine, both historical and current. There have been a series of what look like racially motivated violent crimes, especially associated with the light rail system. I think it would be a useful study to see if there is a connection. If there were, understanding would be the path to fixing the problem in any real way. My grandfather was Ukranian, having emigrated around 1914-1917. He didn't talk about the "old country" much, except to say that the borders shifted a lot. My grandfather couls speak six languages and was once a Seargeant managing a cavalry in the Austrian Army. He left before the Holodomor, but recent leaps have been made in the science of epigenetic changes to populations. These can be caused by experiences like starvation, and they can also be caused by trauma. I was surprised to learn that these are mulltigenerational. What could it mean to us if we understood these things well?

Much of what I learn is in the comments section, which is full of lies but then has some surprising truths. Cross-referencing can help somewhat, but fact checking could turn into a full-time job if I wanted to be sure of every detail. Most people can't do this. I am still glad for the internet. Christina Briano and I may be very well informed on the news but with a few mistakes. I would choose that over not having alternative news sources.
