  1. At first, I thought you meant Corbusian superblocks. I like this new approach of retrofitting existing blocks for this by limiting cars. It seems accurate that planners in North American cities have had the greatest success in creating mixed-use, walkable development projects in upscale areas with some affordable housing where mandated. I hope that this approach is successful and spreads. This would take political will. One thing that may encourage the spread of this is that people generally love this kind of a place. These areas are typically vibrant and lend a wonderful quality of chance human interaction that somehow connects people.
