  1. Good idea. A high proportion of conflict occurs at borders. How about the adjacent US / Mexican border towns of El Paso and Juarez? In 2000, the bodies of 400 women and girls were found in the desert around Juarez. These crimes went unsolved. From what I have heard, this may have worsened. Along the riverbed at the border crossing is a tall frost fence topped by razor wire. I wonder if the maquiladoras that funded a 2000 "Vision Plan" for Juarez in cahoots with the World Bank are still there? I think that there might have been cheaper labor that drew the profiteers somewhere else. El Paso looks like a city without a soul, lined with strip malls. Juarez has some beautiful old buildings. It must have been lovely at one time. Now it is an unusually violent place.
