There is a story in my family that we were never supposed to mention. In the late 1949's, my grandparents built a neighborhood store. A woman came into the store one day and called my grandmother a "bohunk." (I am not sure what this means, but it made everyone mad.) My grandmother was arrested, and later released without charges. There was a small article in the newspaper, and all the relatives were horrified that one of us had been in trouble with the law. I am telling it now, because I admire my Grandmother in this story.
