Parts of the cold war are still entrenched in American culture. When I became a US citizen, I had to swear that I had not become a communist since my interview. This seemed in conflict with the Constitutional right to free speech, which would include being a communist.

@michaelfoye1135 I recently became an American. Immediately before the inauguration ceremony, I was required to swear to the fact that I had not become a communist since the immigration interview. My reading of the Constitution is that I was free to become a communist the second I was sworn in. (Anecdotal. I am not a communist.) I found it a brain teaser.

@michaelfoye1135 One could argue that we are dangerously close to that precipice already. I view Bolton, Trump, Abrahms and Pompeo as enemies of the people. It is not only the victims of our senseless and misguided wars of intervention that have been thrown away. It is us. As a new citizen, I am thankful for our first amendment.

Lúzia A Morta 3 or 4. For example, they misrepresented the failed coup in Venezuela to us and promoted costly wars of intervention instead of investing in this country. I believe that they represent corporations at our expense.
