But they have no tailpipe, and gasoline comes from a way worse place than where electricity comes from (which you can just charge using solar panels anyways) and the battery is only 2% lithium, which is the bad chemical. But I don’t understand your reasoning that you don’t want it because it’s being funded. Most of the money is coming from investors which is a legitimate way of making money. It’s not cheating. And if you like their car, why would you not take it just because of how the company gets money?

Every car that’s manufactured causes a lot of pollution. There’s no stopping that for a while. But through its lifetime, it’s way better than any gas car out there. Plus, even though grids are pretty dirty, they are not 100% coal. In fact, about 30% of the grid in California is renewable. And you can say that solar panels pollute when they are made, but that’s the only time they pollute in their lifetime. It’s a small amount too. And people who say we will have to stop using fossil fuels 100% are wrong. But we should use as little as possible so we can only use it on things that cannot be switched to renewable, like rockets and manufacturing. Putting it as a fuel source of cars and tools like leaf blowers is an absolute waste and very bad for the environment. So we need to use as little as possible, and this will help.

  17. Windscape I’m technically not in Los Angeles but very close to it. Here you can’t go a day without seeing any Tesla. People in my area love Tesla so much (slightly due to the fact people are a bit wealthy which is why there are so many). So they are very common here. (Not Prius common, but common) I don’t think it’ll be as common as I see, but you’ll see a lot if you are in California.

  19. Ted Spink It is behind but only because Elon way overestimated what he said would be his production numbers. They are doing good for a company if it’s size. There recent goal of 2,500 cars per week was only a few hundred cars off and made that goal a week later. Also, I see a model 3 like everyday in California. So they are out there and is now selling in Canada as well.
