  5. As beeswax church candle makers (1,000,000 plus per year) we can tell you that pure beeswax mostly is completely consumed by burning. Candles should always be placed in a stand or on a ceramic saucer or plate. It doesn’t flow down and drip all over everything unless there is wind, the wick isn’t centered or tended by clipping. Your image of wax flowing over and off the table is not really accurate. No one would let their candles do that… it struck me as strange and not something us Orthodox would allow on our icon corners….
