There's alot of outsourcing occurring through these "food delivery companies" which would now better be described as "last mile logistics" where customers make purchases outside of the app through the business/restruants website or app. Some of these websites or apps don't have options for a customer to tip, and the customer doesn't even know its a gig economy worker delivering it. The "last mile logistics" companies have got Service Level Agreements in place at low costs, where a driver would be lucky to break even.
