What if housing projects, Section 8, homeless shelters, and cheap apartments were spread out evenly? Here's what would happen: crime in N.I.M.B.Y. suburbs would skyrocket, while crime in cities (e.g., Chicago) would plummet. Therefore, N.I.M.B.Y. suburbs should thank cities (e.g. Chicago) every day for their splendid isolation.

When it comes to bad behavior, the city and the suburbs have a very reciprocal relationship. Countless times, I've seen some story about some "diverse" suburbanite committing some crime in Chicago.
