1) we need consumer protection 2) we need to boycott a ton more 3) we need a paradigm shift regarding consumption 4) we need a paradigm shift regarding work/jobs/labor

your conclusion is that negative sells and is spreadable globally. positive is localized and only influential to those in a small range. you are not wrong... but it also doesn't get us anywhere. the issue is that we have not found a way to make positive sellable, global.
5
yup.. they thought their target audience was not as bigoted as they thought... but that is marketing for you, disconnected from realty. trying to manufacture their own reality.
5
@josecipriano3048 sure... which party is that and what kind of power do these parties have?
3
"What Happened to the Bud Light Boycotts?" my guess... nothing... because MAGAts do not have integrity to stick to there so called "principles". it is all a facade, and all they do it take orders from theit uppers. like good little Tuckers waiting for daddy to get home to spank him.

TLDR; "AI" is a tool.

preliminary thoughts: no different than the reusable tote bag trend. yes a tote is "more eco friendlt" in THEORY if used for their entire "intended" lifespan... but in practice now we just have trash tote bags that we forget and then buy new ones .. now we have 50 "reusable " tote bags in our homes that we cant even use as trashbag. at least single use plastic bags were used as trash bags in their second life. now we have tote bags and have to BUY trash bags. the answer here is ... drum roll.... CAPITALISM! MARKETING! PROFITS! in all honesty i am starting to no believe the left anymore... i mean.. they can't possibly ACTUALLY care about this stuff. if the left cared... they would ACTUALLY walk their talk with some dedication. is this channel even lefty? ------------------------------------------------------ video play by play: YES... capitalism has better marketing and influence than the left paradigm. capitalism knows how to control "culture". um.. i disagree ... we CAN consumerism out of consumerism. "consumerism" is the excuse that capitalists use when they say that 'the CONSUMER should have the right to drink soda even if it is bad for them' falling (or not falling into ) the consumerism trap IS what WE THE INDIVIDUAL have control over. um... no.. " disposability is baked into our culture" ... noooo ... please stop.... WE control the culture... WE DO ... the INDIVIDUALS... everything else is MARKETING. the corps control the marketing... we control our purchases. ------------------------------------------------------ post mortem: ugh.. yet another useless video.. can we get a video about your channel goals? transparency of where our attention-to-revenue conversion is going? how about a video about the sociology of peoples spending. real numbers on consumption and where to stop it in its tracks. moreso, the businesses that are living the lefty paradigm NOW, that we ought to engage with instead of corporate marketing. who is the target audience for this channel? the peole that already agree? or the everyday person that "doesn't know" ? if it truly is for the people that don't know... then we need to provide alternatives to them. EDUCATION is NOT enough.....

"Underconsumption-core" as a trend... is just the same as minimalism as a trend. a philosophy of : degrowth anti-consumerism anti-capitalism frugalness : is what is needed. a paradigm shift. as well as social institutions that facilitate these philosophical ideals. this is the same reason the socialism-trend is not a an actual movement, there are no institutions for people to turn to.
2
petty BS... is this a leftist channel or a content farm... get better material.

----- first thoughts: maximalism is not a modern trend ... and minimalism is not dead. additionally ... the minimalism TREND was just as consumerist as maximalism. the small footprint, upcycle, community is it's own community, they are not necessarily part of the "minimalist trend" all TRENDS are consumerist. ----- after watching: why are you such a confused individual? ----- i really only half like this channel at this point. it is for ... someone... i guess. what even is the point..... yes... stuff we dont need = bad. this channel is JUST complaining. like so many other "content" channels. all ragebairt no substance, no action, no actionable paradigm shift. NOT buying is not an Action(capital A). p.s. if OP reads this, lets be real, am i yelling into the void, of course. am i just voicing my own complaints, sure. but i am not the one posting content. i'm not the one actively trying to sway minds. ( unless thats not what is the intent of these videos) i would HOPE that the idea to such a channel is to create a community of action. but like so many channels it REALLY feels like these channels are just communities of consumption of content. were is the call for PRAXIS. the FACILITATION of action ? am i jsut asking for too much from a platform of 539k?

can we turn EVERY self-storage unit into "tool libraries"? for the sharing economy.
2
not going to team up with Nebula?

nuance is always the key. but .... saying "just using aluminum cans instead of plastic" ... bypasses the brains nuance filters and people hear : <nah, aluminum isn't the answer so don't bother > i get the same vibe from everyone of these videos.: state problem say it isn't enough to fix doesn't provide a real alternative leaves people educated ... but feeling doomed. i absolutely dislike this uppity doomer thing. i seriously question the motive of this channel. anyone else suspicious?

i am getting series mixed signals here....

7:24 "a lot of the content that we see online is usually pretty middle class at least because some people are saying saying underc consumption core is just glamorizing poverty " no no no... "glamorizing" poverty... no.. anyone who sees it that way has a chip on their shoulder. 1) at the end of the day ALL influencers are garbage. 2) regardless of the monetization of this influencer stuff... it is ultimately de stigmatizing completely practical living. 3) nearly whatever it takes to deprogram the people taken in by influencer lies... so be it. 4) the influencers that are being called "middle class" are mostly PRETENDING to be middle class. they are no different than actors on a set most of the time. what they do are tax write off business expenses. 5) the idea of who and who is not in the middle class is so twisted that people living paycheck-to-paycheck think they are middle class 😆, it's ridiculous. end of the day... the VAST MAJORITY of people watching youtube are poor. not necessarily IN poverty, but definitely the working poor.

people who do not use old clothing as rags, water downs the shampoo to get the last bit out, cut open the toothpaste to get those hidden 3 days of brushing. ... the people who have not done that... have simply never used the survival-poverty portion of their brains.

it is NORMAL to use the contents of a product before buying more. it is NORMAL to reduce, reuse, upcycle, recycle i find it hilariously sad that people think that we are better than post-wwii america... we are not. we have yet to ACTAULLY recover from the war efforts corporations got their claws into use back then and have not let go. every American should be living as-if we are still on rations, as-if in a war time *, as-if we need victory gardens..... because in reality we need all of this and more. *( to be clear america has been at war the MAJORITY of time .... napkin math: Whiskey Rebellion 1794 - War in Afghanistan 2021 ... 156 years of war in that time that is 68.7% of 227 years. )
1
it really just sounds like most people ... are just followers.... and consumers of marketing. the real problem is just how many people are suckers.
1
how do we get a resource report? how do we gut our landfills? scavenge them for resources? who owns our landfills and what are their profits? how do we disincentivize land fills? for that matter how do we disincentivize ALL this bad behavior.
1
great education ... but now what?
1
cost.. the usual metric why we get bad things. which is why , though it doesnt fully matter, boycotting is NECASSARY. corps play this game like it is "supplu and demand" but we have been on to that lie for a LOOONG time, but doomerism makes us not think we have power. we need "play" by their rules, their paradigm, watch them cry about profits and "millennials and gen z not buying" xyz nonsense, and call them out on why they are not buying. hold corps accountable. if all they understand is money... then money is where we hurt them. telling the bad guy to simply be a good guy is not a winning stratagy. we also need large networks of small batch, renewable and non intrusive production with beneficial socialist pragmatisim in its operations. we can't jsut complain, we need to act. we need to build the systems for people to support. MOST people are not leaders.. we have existence to survive. we can not abandon what works for hopes and dreams. we can only switch from what works to something else that works.

yes renting is a subscription....

corps are doing this as a way to monopolize the packaging industry. it will evenly be a board that ALL packaging will need to go through. so any innovative packaging will be incorporated or silenced. this is classic centralization of corporate powers. i guarantee the corps did not want government involved, asked for all kinds of exceptions and privileges. i know you asked the audience as a way to ask.. but come on... its too easy for the audience to agree with the corps on this because it SOUNDS good on the surface. the masses always forgets that the corps are NEVER the good guys. corps are ALWAYS the profiteers. nothing they do is about ANY THING BUT MONEY.

@mikafoxx2717 "Inconvenience and doing actual work to get things done ends up giving us far more satisfaction long term. " i disagree that "actual work" has "more satisfactoriness" .... i would argue that substantial tangible result is the more satisfactory thing long term. "Now we often have so much free time that we just laze around " i believe this is 1) due to marketing 2) because there is no movement that is offering the substantial tangible result of change. this is a hard conversation because it teeters on the republican "hard work meritocracy"[BS] and the reality that change is hard. the difference with republican "individualism" and the reality that we are individuals with control only of individual actions. {as far as "control" is possible... this is not to get into "freewill / determinism" } the left needs better entry points for supporters to be come contributors to become collaborators to become members. - what i ask for from the leftist movement is leadership. leadership through example. leadership through a public task list. what the ongoing project are, the ongoing movements. the needs and how WE can contribute on multiple levels.
1
@GreenTT-l1l corps are illegitimately involved in government. the government has a responsibility to regulate corporations in the name of THE PEOPLE.
1
@matt.stevick that's too vague for me. that what end , who controls it, who regulates it?
1
@darkzeroprojects4245 small business , though is an ok thing, is not an actual answer. they can be just as exploitative. look at all the small family businesses that just use family members as labor with no protections. there are not enough enforcement agents to make sure each small business is operating ethically. outside of the lobbying power of the wealthy, legislating corporation board rules would be "easier". but to the main point of infinte/exponential growth, that is just a moral failing on the part of the people that believe that way. that is the HARDEST of the things to do. - i would love to see business owners be ethical... but the "Left" seems to not want to form businesses ( even though socialisms biggest principle economically is " seizing the means of production" aka, become business owners. ) [ but again see the first point, just being a lefty doesn't make a small business owner ethical ] * tough situation when people fail at building the infrastructure we need for the paradigm shift in human rights.
1
@frogsbongs nah, "Inclusivity " is not for fascists, bigots, most religious folks. Inclusivity IS for people with kindness, and empathy, and humanity though.
1
can we get an update? additionally... can we get a boycott list? can we get an agenda with guidelines, suggestions, a collective push towards SOMETHING.
1
627K subscribers 40,111 people watched in the first 6 hours... what homework can these 40k people DO, right now, to help? i get these types of channels are just "entertainment" and take no responsibility to be leaders. ... but ..... come on... give us something to do.
1
update 148k views... 148k opportunities to recruit, to assign tasks, to facilitate the inkling of a change. imagine 148k $ in 8 days... if only we ACTUALLY trusted you, the movement.
1
can we trust climate first bank ? they seem to be tiny, with 3 branches in shady place, but are a 1% for the planet pledge affiliated... thoughts , concerns?
1
follow the money. follow who gains the power. follow what the corp spends their money on & who they support. in a better world we would have cooperative tool libraries. our "subscription" would just be the fact that we are alive or taxation that actually aids the people.
1
extrapolate it enough and socialism is distributed ownership... it is a subscription society
1
they can also serve as places for apprenticeship for all kinds of trades. imagine high schools having apprentice programs to fix / reuse the stuff in these storage units.
1
this would also work in waste management programs / recycling / junk yards.
1
maybe the target audience shouldn't be bigoted @ssholes? but business owners like serving their own folk ... sooo...
1
people always trying to escape their own local worlds, just to be fed the corporate consumerist world. how do we honestly get people to not be consumers of trash nonsense? education is such a slow process sigh
1
we just have a consumer psyop ... that's the issue. it is SOOO bad that people get yelled at for buying avocado toast. but in the same breathe when people stop buying avocados the same people get yelled at for not contributing the economy. the key is being ant-consumption and anti-business. make them earn your purchase.
1
we also need regulatory processes in place that do something to stop the production of garbage products. its a hard thing to do of course because telling people what they can and can not make is nearing that totalitarian line. a paradigm shift is the real change we need but goodguys being good doesn't stop badguys from being bad.
1
nice choice to release a video with a 9/11 reference on 9/11
