  2. maybe you just live somewhere with a low education rate? or in a superfund site that is causing birth defects? drug use generally stems from some kind of underlining trauma or ailment. the other use of drugs is community. so maybe look at drugs from a sociologic, medical, psychological , academic lens will help you have empathy for drug users more.
