  1. the fact that it takes week+ of research, a dangerous blue laser, a globe of light with an insidiary focul point, and a 27:10 video edited down form who knows how much raw footage.... is exactly why we can probably never convince people who believe alien abductions and UAPs are real... that they are probably not real. even explained so amazingly, will not be as simply as a person saying " but i believe" . nature is wicked awesome. time and time again science explains all the anomalies. this does not take away the wonder of anything... for me it is more astonishing that we found out some crazy detail of nature over believing magic.

No villainizing the other side, just constructive solutions that make sense given the data." this is bull though in reality. try to stop people of their buzzwords and they scream "censorship" ... outside of partisanship , people are jaded @ssholes. there are people that talk in good faith and people that talk in bad faith. people that look at facts and people that parrot this weeks party soundbite. there are people that care about consistency and people that are comfortable in blatant hypocrisy. -- and though someone might read this comment and both-sides it... that is insane. in broad strokes the Republicans, specifically trumpians ( the party of white-christian-nationalism) scream censorship, parrot this weeks party soundbite, and are blatantly hypocritical. - it's great that Veritasium is trying to be fair and measured.... but now is not the time to be fair and measured. we live in a society with a fractured shared reality. this isn't even about the culture war... this is about what we agree on empirically and our epistemology. there are bad actors acting in bad faith afoot. there is true "evil" trying to take power(to use loaded language). white-christian-nationalism is a real and present danger. being intellectually correct is not going to prevent white-christian-nationalism. if white-christian-nationalism ceases power our ability to even have intellectually honest conversations will he dramatically hindered if not eliminated until they are overthrown. ... this is not hyperbole, it is the goal of Project 2025, Agenda 47, "Dictator Day One", "Enemies Within"

  6. but then there are a ton of numbers that are "not random"... 1-10 because they are the first 10 number (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) any number ending in a 5 (5,15,25,35,45,55,65,75,85,95)) any number ending in a 0 (10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100) any angel number (but i guess those are all 3 digit though) duplicate numbers ( 11,22,33,44,55,66,77,88,99) any basic prime number (3,5,7,9,11, .... 😅my brain stops there. but the internet says 13,17,19,23,29,31,37,41,43,47,53,59,61,67,71,73,79,83,89,97) any number that is known in the human mythos ( 4, 7, 42, 69, 13, 5-0,20) i would go as far as to say even 37 is not random because of 1337. - and then if we add in birthdays( numbers from a calendar 1-31) and birth years (say .... [19]24 - [19]99 & [20]01-[20]24 this covers a 100 year old walking down the street and someone with a newborn) idk...i'll watch ---back i see.. he covered some of it.

Homo-Luden. what we need to do is make sure the tech is not controlled by capitalism. capitalism is the main enemy to must things. "productivity" is nonsense. exponential "growth" does nto mean growth in knowledge or benefit... it means exponential extraction and profit. we need a new paradigm. we need humanism. we need to get over the petty idea of "work" for monopoly money.

  11. the "confusion" about masks was about measurably HOW effective. not about if they were generally effective. there was also the fear of capitalists hoarding masks. supply issues. what kind of masks people should invest in. the framing of the covid mask situation was sloppy in this video

  14. this video further engrains in me that the adage " there is no such thing as a stupid question" is correct. when forming hypothesis do all the crazy things. do things that do not make sense. go past the limits that another scientist gave up with , go completely against what other scientists are currently doing, smash everything you can together to see what comes of it.

  19. what this ULTIMATELY means , IMO, is that our "large actions" are the things that are not the norm. and as beings that can essentially make motivated actions ( lets not get into freewill/determinism though) , we are extraordinarily rare. are actions are EXTREMELY "meaningful". and our inaction makes us just background NPCs, ordinary, mundane.
