  3. - this video was a laundry list of complaints.. but not answers. i dont know who this video is for - 1) making kids docile workers .... sure that was a past reason for schooling. the danger in perpetuating this without context , which is often done ( not saying you are doing so) , is that people now think NOT-"docile" is better. and we essentially have feral children in school ( feral for the imagery only, because i don't have a better word right now) 2) education is definitely the steps forward we need for progress. that is exactly why the republicans are spreading anti-intellectualism. what does not make sense to me is how non-republicans fall for the same trap. 3) 11:35 ABSOLUETLY ... public schools have become places for the poor and people with special needs. and they have been defunded. we are regressing back to the wealthy elite being educated and the rest having to fend for themselves with charity. this makes it doubly important for communities to stand together instead of falling for the anti-intellectualism so many people fall for. 4) eh.. i have some reservation regarding lawyers and doctors. yes the language could be updated. but also, there is specificity in the "complicated" manor law and medicine is written in. it takes lots of words to be very specific sometimes. "Limits of using oligonucleotides for allele-selective inhibition at trinucleotide repeat sequences - targeting the CAG repeat within ataxin-1" ^ this is not elitist of intentionally complicated, it is topic specific. 5) connection between illiteracy and crime ....ehhhhhh i would have phrased that better. something like' a connection between illiteracy and opportunities to stay out of crime.
