why is supply and demand always used when talking about raising prices for consumers and lowering wages for employees but hardly used in defending higher wages for employees and lower prices for consumers?? hm ... i wonder...

@1s_that_a_j0j0_reference absolutely does not address the question. I.E. there is a HUGE demand and low supply of nurses and doctors. Nurses get paid shit for what they do and the American Medical Association is notorious for artificially controlling who gets in their salaries. supply and demand is a complete farce. an additional framing for supply and demand.... do you think the banks, auto industry, real estate industry and frankly any other bailed out industry should have gotten taxpayer money because they are "too big to fail"? the mere fact that the US bailed ANY of them out is proof enough that supply and demand doesn't work.

@IDX907 a system that incentivizes and allows employers to pay people unlivable wages, obviously exploitative contracts and working conditions, and with little consequence for these injustices ... I would kinda have to lean to the very system of capitalism as the root philosophical problem. Capitalism is like alchemy, it sounds good to be able to make more from what is, but that's not how the material works... "added value" is literally imaginary, feeling based, and a con. when implemented in the material world the word becomes, Exploitation. just because there are some " good capitalists" that pay just or more than minimum wage.... doesn't really make up for the percentage of people struggling to survive to expected human lifespan( let alone an acceptable healthspan).

"millions of americans that are getting ready to quit the jobs that they have just because they're not happy at their jobs and now they're looking for a job that fits their lifestyle " "just because they're not happy" !?!?!? terrible phrasing IMO. what you do for 2000+ hours a year for 47+ years should not be normalized as unhappy-but-status-quo. its like a pitch for an abusive relationship.

well... investing makes the company you're investing in wealthy... and you receive a slightly better pittance. being a customer you are an associate to the companies crime, being an investor you are a conspirator in their crimes. food for thought.

@glensmith491 so as an example ... with a growing market for McDonalds .. an average employees wage has met inflation and production and is currently at $20+ ? oh wait ... its not, its generally whatever the legal lowest wage possible in the region is. the general response for why a McDonalds employee getting the lowest possible wage is that its unskilled and a there is high supply of employee power. "supply and demand" is a rhetorical weapon and nothing more. a façade to point to the system being orderly and measured.

@angelodelmonaco9328 you too thank you for your side. sorry for any perceived hostilities. the internet does not convey tone very well.

"that means you got to cut back on your expenses and you got to slow down do all that and nobody wants to see that happen because everybody always wants to see a booming economy" ... sounds like addiction to me buddy

do you buy gold in ingots form or in jewelry form?
1
@MasterBlaster36914 yeah... i am thinking tradability. pawning jewelry , for craftmanship or melt price. i can see it being useful for smaller denominations.

i get tired of hearing the same video over and over and over again. i come back every few months to see if there is anything new.... and there never really is.

de regulation lets oil and gas companies get away with more spills and deaths... to be clear that it means.

Can we get a video about ethical investments? genuinely curious. I hope this is not taken as hostile. Just trying to reconcile profiting off of people basic needs. Investment ideas that do not leverage other peoples life necessities like housing or other commodities, that are not consumer based, that do not feed into corporations that commit crimes against nature and humanity. Just some good wholesome investments. Since home rentals is a big part of what is discussed on this channel. what are ethical ways to do so? suggestions on pricing and what services the tenant is provided. What assistance is given to them. Should a landlord do everything in their power to assist a tenant into their own home ownership? I am thinking of how to invest in one's community that betters Everyone collectively instead of the idea of 'well they need to rent a home form someone it might as well be me' or 'i can make money investing in coca-cola i do not want to think about the implication that my money is feeding into worsening someone's heath' All the best

@tonyelbows exactly.

because you lacked workers? ... well lets find out if you are good to work for. ( always good to interview an employer. i have always found the interview process too one sided in favor of the employer.) ...just a few questions: what wages and benefits are offered to your employees? what are the executives' wage and benefits? what is the company earning ratio between the highest and lowest paid? Does the company ethically source materials and labor? Does the company support the local community, school, pantries, libraries, social services? What are the maternity/paternity leave benefits? 401k matching details? Pension plan details? What equity does an employee have in the business? What is the business decision structure? Is it a union house? What is the raise structure? Does the company provide annual stand of life raises on top of merit raises and bonuses? ... like i said, just a few questions off the top of my head that are pretty standard for any business to have reasonable answers to.

anything will fail when its based on infinite growth.

money = power ... but , to be frank, it doesn't sound like it made you any more moral, ethical, socially minded. hope you are building community and not just skimming the cream through being a slum lord. ( but your objection to the social need for vaccination leans me to certain conclusions)

@angelodelmonaco9328 would you be willing to pledge to your tenants to not evict them when times get hard for them?
1
@angelodelmonaco9328 its great that you have pledged to not evict them.... but "actually proved to have a financial hardship" is some sleazy wording. commodifying the basic right of housing is a crappy mode of extortion. Considering you said "so you don’t have to work for money forever and give your employer all this power over you." i would have thought you wouldn't want to hold power over others... taking your words at face value here.... it hurts me to hear your live story. no one should have to go through such hardships. ( and people who have certainly shouldn't kick the can down the road) But ... realistically, the story also doesn't buy you any brownie points. Hope you are doing the right thing for your cash crop .... peasants ... i mean "tenants". i can only wish you continue your journey from simply not being like other landlords ( which is a low bar) to being a community builder that doesn't extract wealth from the vulnerable. all the best.

@angelodelmonaco9328 "America is the great country it is because we have the opportunity to control our future and family’s future through good decision making. " ... i think you need to bone up on your american history. that comment also brings up questions as to what you think are "good decisions".
1
@angelodelmonaco9328 additionally ... what you are portraying as socialistic .... nothing of the sort was mentioned here. just basic human rights. so i am very confused as to what you mean by "socialistic victim mentality".
