  1.  @k.b.tidwell  lets think a step or two above that.... for all our sakes of falling into a dystopian eugenicists wet dream. i was thinking more on the line of citizen scientists, local science research in the same ( and more) abundance of local gardens. a lot of that science is environmental since it is the easiest thing for laypeople to observe and record. but i am hope for more than ^that.

  2. this is why i do not shame Alchemy. Alchemy was the first steps of science. there is a lot of wonky stuff n alchemy, there were a few good hunches though. and this is not to praise "ancient wisdom" ... no... this is to give them credit for being imaginative with solutions and curious. people mythologies the ancient world to be simultaneously supersmart and super dumb. what people seem to forget is that the ancient world and us... are the same species. we have the same potential the same brains and minds, same pattern recognition bio-algorithms.

  5. capitalism does not step in unless THEY can profit... that is the critique so many capitalists are intentionally ignorant to ( look at Warner Brothers dropping the Sesame Street license because it was not profitable) people have this fake idea that "business people take on risk".... as if it is a superpower.... but it is not. we all take risk every day. businesses do not often take any more risk any of us do. vulture capitalists dont even risk their own money, thats why they are willing to be the highest riskers. but at that point it is not risk.... it is gambling. but again so many capitalists are intentionally ignorant to this concept.

  6. like always ... exponential growth of profits for the sake of capitalism is dooming us all. can us humans please just stick to the places we already inhabit? can we please stop terraforming places for resources? can we please learn to use the resources we already have in a cyclical way? can we learn to consume less? we need a paradigm shift on consumption, our role in protecting the planet, our responsibility to the next generations.
