my screen time started with me getting into the workforce. being on a computer for work is what got me on computers incessantly. work normalized sitting for long hours infront of a screen. screens as a kid was a thing to fill a few minutes between actually playing. as a teen screens were mostly to play a game for a little bit or watch a movie. but most the time it was couch co-op gaming. but even solo games were only a couple of hours of total play time to beat. a desk job normalized me sitting for so long. before a desk job i fidgeted every second of the day. i couldn't set still. desk work ruined my activity levels. sitting and looking at a screen is TIRING. and the travel between work and home. so when i get home i am too tired to be active, so i throw something on the screen again. if it wasn't for my desk job i would undoubtable be on screens less. i honestly miss my shitty retail jobs sometimes.

for the people that are against big pharma..... they should be against big weed too. like it was pointed out about K-2 and the fact that the weed of today is no the same as the weed of the past. we have the junk food equivalent of weed today.

comparing yourself the the "perfect" traits of a cobbled together homunculi of a dozen other people is no bueno. the fact that a person has to pull perfect traits from a dozen people means that not one of those people is perfect either. comparing yourself is a hell of a disaster.

social anxious associating with the social oblivious,... that was going to be my comment. when listening to others i find myself thinking of a comment to respond with but forgetting it by the time they end their statement. i can not hold on to my own thoughts when i am listening to a person. that's why i like text so much better. it gives me time to read their comment, think, respond, and then read the whole thing again to make any clarifications and make sure the conversation thread is coherent.

correct, inner work is key. this is what people get wrong with their journey through nihilism. some people choose religion as an external authority. if the big lie works all the power to you. ( just don't try to spread the brain rot. and don't try to harm others.) on the flip, people internalize nihilism and thing meaning itself does not exist and become doomer; seething, loathing , anti social people. doomers don't even have the benefit of religion though. instead they tend to side with accelerationists who in turn side with facists. ( which in america right now religion is also bedfellows with fascists... soooooo it's all lose lose right now) these both are far worse resolutions to nihilism than realizing and having radical acceptance of the truth that nothing has inherent meaning. that we have a lot more control of ourselves than we give ourselves credit for. maybe not control of outcomes or what happens to us, that is not in scope for nihilism. staying in scope is key. "to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference." getting through nihilism and landing somewhere around secular humanism is one of the best paths, IMO. a nice dose of Smile-nihilism , smihilism ( totally ripped smihilism from Forrest Valkai... i usually use something like positive nihilism)

F.I.R.E. has always left me wanting to know ... FOR WHAT!! they say it a lot.. that ye want to F.I.R.E. so they can then work on their passions... so it is almost never about actually RETIRING it is jsut about becoming a landlord to have THOSE people to pay for your lifestyle. it is hypocrisy come alive.

the question is, why is consumption considered "nothing" and creation considered "something" ?
