"we need to build a broad coalition. Of Americanism. That tolerates dissent. That accommodates
everybody. That believes in opportunity for everybody, that rejects these dogmas of collective
guilt. That rejects extremism. It makes clear. That the purpose of politics is to make the lives
of ordinary people better."
a bunch of vague bullsh^t in this statement because you are trying to say that the Reich-wing is operating in goodfaith... they simply are not.
-----------------------------------------------
immediately issues with definitions:
"That tolerates dissent." ------ 'tolerate' and 'dissent'
"opportunity for everybody" ------ 'opportunity' and 'everyone'
"collective guilt" ------ what does that even mean?
"rejects extremism" ------ another both sides idiocy, there is no "extreme left" in America
"politics is to make the lives of ordinary people better" ------ 'politics' , 'ordinary people' , 'better'
we need to get to CORE beliefs.
-------------------------------------------------
IMO, we need to get back to the SPIRIT ofAmerica.
the sentiment of the the man that sent this to Reagan was correct:
``You can go to live in France, but you cannot become a Frenchman. You can go to live in Germany or Turkey or Japan, but you cannot become a German, a Turk, or Japanese. But anyone, from any corner of the Earth, can come to live in America and become an American.''
our Statue of liberty further enshrines this:
"Give me your TIRED, your POOR, Your HUDDLED MASSES yearning to breathe free, The WRETCHED REFUSE of your teeming shore. Send these, the HOMELESS, TEMPEST-TOST to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
the preamble lays out how we are supposed to read the rest of the document:
"WE THE PEOPLE of the United States, in Order to form A MORE PERFECT UNION, establish JUSTICE, insure domestic TRANQUILITY, provide for the COMMON defence, promote the general WELFARE, and secure the Blessings of LIBERTY to ourselves and our POSTERITY, ..."
