this absolutely helps tighten up police discretion. we can not allow police to bob for apples, they need correct training to identify dangerous behaviors not just people "being weird". holding police to a higher standard helps EVERYONE. by these cops being lazy and defaulting to "he was in a high crime area" simply puts ALL the residence in those neighborhoods in a the police domain. that is NOT sufficient IMO.

sounds like we should defund the police so they don't have the funds to do these data purchases too.... regulate the police from buying regulate businesses from selling actually protect people instead of profits.

( i can't imagine there is much home for the regressive though. those would be the white-christain-nationalists and other trump-esque followers) conservatives ought to be conversed about privacy, overreach of business interaction with government, and in favor of conservative economic growth instead of exponential economic growth. desire for exponential growth makes you an accelerationist, not a conservative.

Free Market Capitalists .. this is what we have been warning you about for 100+ years now. under the free market anything is a product and everyone is a buyer. deregulation allows businesses and governments to do whatever they want. the temporarily-embarrassed-millionaire needs to get there heads out of the dirt and see the surveillance capitalist world they have been creating through their votes ( and non-votes). the " i have nothing to hide" people need to be shaken awake. corps want surveillance to empty our pockets, government want surveillance enslave people for the profit of corporations. ( yes , prisoners are slaves of the state. it is heinous and needs to be corrected. "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.") i hope people that are against surveillance capitalism, are also against the for profit prison system that is currently running. we need a system of rehabilitation, not a system of human capital extraction.

right... this is to channel weapons through weapons shops. can we clarify how this is different than pharmaceuticals being sold strictly by pharmacists? clearly there is A LOT in this and each part would need to be addressed in its own merit and combined. but i'm just curious about this one part. the classification of "personal protection" is ..... vague-not-vague..... the spirit of the law is there... but that means very little to the application of the law. but i can see the rational being the same for using bleach as a weapon. it's intended use is cleaning, it is legal to buy and use, but IF used as a weapon.. it is now... a weapon... it was used NOT for its "intended" use. the bottle even has the same warning.
