I'm from Canada and equally outraged. While this kind of abuse occasionally happens the behaviour would be addressed swiftly with dismissal. I just don't understand why only 5 miles away across a border there is a country that is so F'd up. I get upset every time I see American licence plates now after allowing Trump to be a President and doing nothing about their guns and racists. You are lucky you have an ocean between you.

Come on. Everyone knows housing, policing, education, voter rules, and on and on are infected with racism. You don't have to be black to know that. You just need to have a functioning brain. Perhaps what this woman needs is a Mississippi traffic stop by a clansman in uniform to help her reattach to reality.

It's not just training. In Canada cops receive much the same training as in the US but I've seen more give better treatment to minorities. As a Canadian I see fear and prejudice is cops in America and they rely on their guns way too much to cover their cowardice.

@Boomboomroomish Fighting back? The racist right wants nothing more. Their needs to be education by exposing this kind of abuse more until the majority of Americans decide to stand up for and with minorities. The right wants a civil war over race so they can start using all those guns they have in their collections.

I am a Canadian living 3 miles from the border with 50 adult years watching my neighbour's country. Where I hoped they would grow beyond a sad part of their history I an quite certain I would like to have a wall built for when civil war breaks out.

If you follow the history of the word thug it was used commonly in reference to white criminals or "street thugs". In comics the criminals were drawn white and referred to as thugs. It wasn't until Tupac used the term "Thug life" that black people started saying they were referred to as thugs. I'm sure you think a white person is incapable of knowing anything in reference to black views but history is well documented including old movies.

@righteoussoulsister9668 No that's not accurate. If a single Democrat from a red state wasn't blocking everything the "government" wants to do then there would be a lot being done. Electing Biden without electing enough Senators to push through the necessary changes is useless. People who want change have to change more than a President. If 95% of Black people voted in every elected office they would overcome a lot. Stop blaming those without power to change and start motivating those who can give them the power.

Absolutely to your first question. This is not the US. Yes there is racism everywhere but Black and White here do not have your history. Actually, Black and white get along pretty good here in the greater Vancouver. The racism here is between Chinese and Sikh and anyone who doesn't share their race. The Chinese are majority in the community and want nothing to do with other races. Sikh are the majority in their community and you will never see anyone outside their race in their homes or businesses. The cops aren't really racist like in the US. They are very lazy and self entitled. They grabbed him because they didn't want to get out of their cars to look for the "dark skinned" homeless man reportedly bothering people in Stanley Park. If they would have seen any dark skinned man walking on the seawall they would have used him to prevent actually working and leaving the comfort of their cars. What they continue to do to Black people in the us is beyond words. it's an epidemic of evil in the police and so many white people. just don't let it stereotype the world. We have our problems here but black and white is no where near what this misrepresented incident is being portrayed as. That's the reason the Judge isn't crying racism. He knew those cops were just lazy slugs, not Black haters.

I've lived here in the Greater Vancouver area.for 64 years and never heard that. It's different than in the US. Here every race sticks to themselves and wants nothing to do with anyone but their own kind. What doesn't have all the power and dictate everything. In the suburbs like Richmond Chinese is majority and run whites out of their Stratas refusing to speak English. Surrey is East Indian Majority and you will NEVER find a white person working for a Sikh business.

No I live in Vancouver and can tell you there was a report of a younger black homeless man bothering people in the park. Yet the cops could tell the Judge wasn't a homeless guy. They could care less if they actually caught him. They just grabbed the first black man they saw to appease the dispatch. Racism is a serious problem here in the Vancouver area but it's more towards Chinese and "brown" people. They call us multi-racial but each race sticks to themselves and want little to do with each other because each think they are superior. It's different than the US because there are a lot less Black People.

This is beyond offensive. Expecting a deaf woman to obey commands while speaking with a mask on is ridiculous. Using force to make her comply is criminal. I am white and have no doubt this cop is racist. He is treating her less because she is black. Suggesting he is acting for his safety makes him a bigger coward. Doing it in front of her kids made me so angry. Until cops like this are stopped from having authority over anyone this plague of abuse will continue. I can't imagine what Black Americans go though but it's time it stopped. Shame on anyone who isn't outraged.

You can't train cowards and racists to stop being what they are. They use the same training here in Canada but they don't accept that kind of abuse in the RCMP and most large forces. The people won't tolerate it.

@kennyroberts2703 Should they remove the word black from the English language? I mean that's getting kinds carried away. It wasn't until the huge increase in crime within the black community with the gangs and drugs that people saw black people as criminals. Perhaps you are upset that not that far back most organized crime figures or "gangsters" were white. Therefor the vast majority of criminals were seen as white. These terms only describe a demographics of a type of criminal behavior and have nothing to do with attacking black people. Lets not forget the black community saw some of their high profile criminals or gang members in a hero type of way that white people did. It's that which brought the black criminal into the mainstream and limelight. There was no conspiracy against black people to criminalize them.

They have become Judge Dred execution squads. When it's a black home they just kill anyone in their way. White suspects are mostly taken alive if possible. Black people are mostly executed.

If you live here you know that the racism problems are not Black against White. Nor are they cops against Black men like in the US. I've been here 64 years and rarely see bad words or feeling between Black and White. You rarely hear about cops harassing Black men. The racism is between Chinese, Sikh, and White. You know Richmond is majority Chinese and they run white people out of Stratas they take over. You know Surrey is majority Sikh and you will NEVER see a white or black person working in a Sikh or Chinese business.Sure BC has racism like everywhere but it's different than the US. You also know the cops here are lazy and self entitled. They don't go after Back people like in the US. They go after poor whites and Indians and street people way more than Blacks.

@mbh7381 I question anyone who tries to portray Vancouver dishonestly. Your Black kids do not have to fear the police like they do in the US. Of course you think being Black gives you the corner on racism but colour means nothing when you go to Quebec. 3 men, including a black man tried to beat me to death crying "tuer les anglais". I also left Surrey because I got sick of seeing people of different race and culture hate each other for no reason. Both sides, not just white. So I understand when one race or culture hates another.

While half of white Americans want color/religion, or gender to be irrelevant in everything, the other half wants to live superior to everything else. America fought a civil war about that issue and the ones who like to chain others LOST. Why do we continue to let that ugly and evil mindset to impact ANYTHING??? Black Americans need to use their voting and economic power because it is very powerful united. Consequences is the only thing that stops any evil from growing.

The only thing a racist white cop fears is the FBI and federal justice department. Are there racist FBI agents. Of course. But suggesting the FBI is like some Mississippi backwoods police department is exactly what the white supremacy groups love to hear. They love to amplify the Black haltered for anything white and the prospect of getting a chance to hold the whip. I come to this channel to get a more accurate perspective. In Canada we have disproportionate economics like in black communities in the US. While we don't have a gun worshipping culture and fear like the US, 95% of the guns used in crime are smuggled here from the US. Arming those who see a life of oppression without opportunity and then trying to play the victim is what America needs to look at. Unfortunately the "greatest country in the world" is to great to see their reflection in the mirror of their neighbors.

While I strongly support everything BLM stands for and want to see a colorless world let's not pretend every race but black is capable of racism. As a Canadian I wonder how you Americans are ever going to overcome your divides which both sides will justify. I wonder if either side even wants to? @fredschnerbert1238 Why is that? Have you studied the voter numbers? The records show that Black people vote during presidential elections more than in midterms. Every white person I know are hoping the Black and Latino community will work to get around the obstructions being put up and help rid America of the GOP plague. Both in state and federal elections. We are not all your enemy and we don't all have grandpappies with a white hood in our closet.

The Judge is well aware what is on YouTube. It's just different here. Black is not seen the same way as many white people do in the US. In fact in the Vancouver area Black and White get along pretty good. The racism here is towards the Natives and the Chinese and Sikhs who are the majority in their communities want nothing to do with anyone outside their race. In my 64 years I've seen very little racism from Whites towards Blacks or the other way around. The vast majority of racism is by White, Brown, and Chinese towards each other. The cops didn't grab the Judge because they are racist. They grabbed him because they are lazy parasites who didn't want to get out of their cars and look for the "dark skinned" man reported to be bothering the people in Stanley Park. They just grabbed the first person they saw to look like they were doing their job. That is what the Judge knows is how things are here and why he didn't make a big deal. They weren't racist, just lazy arrogant self-entitled cops.

It's not as severe as in the US with the Police. People aren't executed by the Police here. He was arrested because the cops are pretty lazy and he was the first black man they saw in the Park.

On a massive scale racist people empowered by a racist President need to be driven back into their holes of hate until a generation of youth who want change force it. I just think people expect Biden to do things he can''t. If he was a King he could and wood but unfortunately he needs a majority Senate of like minded people.

Have you bothered to look at how many cases the federal justice department and FBI have pursued to go after racist cops. There is a large effort being made to purge America of the white suppremacy militias. Are they perfect? No. But to paint the FBI as racist is ridiculous and the kind of thing the racist groups use to show your just a different colored version of them. Their favourite tool is to demonstrate if you had the power it would just be a different colored oppression and abuse. Or is that justifiable like revenge is righteous?
