This is the consequence of decades of City and BC Liberal governments allowing the billionaire slumlord Sahota family who owned many of the Hotels that housed hundreds of these people while their welfare, disability, and pension cheques enriched them. I worked at the Balmoral Hotel at the maintenance man in 2012 when the owners were getting tax breaks to renovate. I got fired when I confronted the government inspector for approving renovations that were never done. Some rooms he approved had no windows or heat or water. They were recycling bed bug infested mattresses. Decades of corruption caused this and it will take the same to decades to solve it.

As long as consumers refuse to confront corporate greed giving them record profits then the sheep get sheared.
38
Free education for Canadian citizens only to become doctor and nurses until the system catches up. Put money where it solves the problem, not deflect it.
38
Maybe take TRANSIT Police out of cars and onto TRANSIT. We have Police in cars already. They should be randomly moving from buses and skytrains in high profile routes.
32
If the shoe fits....
17
How long Albertans are suing Ottawa for letting Alberta squander and embezzle their Pensions fund like they did their oil resources and Rainy Day Fund for decades. They want that CPP money to plunder now.
17
Holding borders and citizens i9n their neighbourhood isn't either.
15
That exactly how we felt about PP's government and why we threw him out with his puppet-master.
14
Is so9meone invading us?
14
I paid 38 cents a gallon until Conservatives sold our oil to foreign corporations. If you were actually alive in 1977 you'd know you didn't buy a house on your block at 20. That's BC. Wages were too low.
13
Seniors remember Canadians having to fight the haters and move beyond. Yet here we are 50 years later running backwards to conform to the new right to hate by conservatives.
12
Remote work for the lower level workers mean Netflix comes before Canadian Institutions of Services. As Veterans and Seniors or diosabled or have tax issues you need hours to reach anyone who chose when they expect you to be available to them. Let Canadians decide.
11
No they are mystified like Canadians who actually care about policies rather than personalities. We saw his previous government and threw them out.
10
I paid 16% in the late 80. Today everyone is a victim because they can't accept personal responsibility. The entitled generation needs some hard lessons.
10
No it's his history as a career politician and his failed government we threw out that Canadians reject,
9
He said he wanted to replace the Bank of Canada Head to end inflation like the reporter tried to ask him about. He ran from it like the coward he is.
8
Does that include the people blocked from using our border crossing and the terrorized seniors and kids held hostage in their Ottawa homes?
8
Nor does it work anywhere in Canada. Do you not remember Harper slashing nurse and teacher training to prevent growth of their union? I do. Hospital waits are everywhere. No doctors taking new patients anywhere.
8
Their bots fill every comments section.
8
@jimandgailgee3450 It must have been a real shack. I was born in 57 and remember exactly how it was. More YouTube lies.
8
They aren't getting screwed. They are getting the consequences of not being able to afford what they purchased.
8
If he was on a flight and someone took the mic talking about why we threw his government out he wouldn't call it free speech. He would play the victim of everything. Try speaking at an open press conference about POLICY PP.
7
And that's why they will never be given power.
7
So that's the untreated waste from Michigan toilets floating right beside the Montreal waste outlet pipe??? Stop deflecting.
7
@KT-zx9jr What? Reporters ask tough questions not throw softballs to the guy they support.
7
Once again NO position on anything from PP except attacking CBC, a Canadian institution.
7
He will lose. The security detail were doing there job dealing with an aggressive man pursuing a women and it was all set up.
7
@dancininthemoonlight6138 2 policies under Harper and PP's government and provincial conservatives were most destructive. Huge tax breaks to slumlords to upgrade which had no oversight or enforcement causing mass buildings being condemned in the last 5 years. One billionaire family had 12 Vancouver buildings closed causing 80% of the DTES homeless. The other was channeling t5he housing resources to corporate landlords.
7
No Canadians don't. Crime didn't start last week. How about Transit Police ride the transit randomly in high profile routes instead of driving Hemi Chargers on the roads we have Police on already.
7
The Union should solicit PP to help them. Oh right, his Party has spent decades trying to destroy unions.
6
Not a legitimate comparison. Did you make your customers let you decide when you will call them back after they could never reach you on your phone.? No you would be fired. Well welcome to remote work in the government services with a huge union.
6
I guess you miss all those softball interviews restricted to only right wing YouTube channels PP only does.
6
They can demand what they want but Ottawa will decide the numbers or the Court will.
6
You mean the guy Harper called Skippy who we threw out of government with him. From a university to the trough, PP.
6
PP leaned how to lie so good in his life as a career politician feeding in the Reform Party trough to living a life of luxury in Stornoway having never given anything back.
6
@trevormerritt1834 And you walk there in base feet uphill for 5 miles in the snow. Give me break. I doubt you work or pay taxes.
6
YouTube is Google and yes it impacts YouTube.
6
I think I heard that a couple elections ago.
6
No you can't. He is entitled to ask questions but he left his side of the pole to pursue her and blocked her path. Look without your political cult filter on. look at a man pursuing a woman aggressively as it was.
5
Harper raised it from 65 to 70 in Canada. What happened to him?
5
@kanoraguy Yes but he raised the mandatory retirement to 70 keeping older workers taking jobs for younger workers. He wanted both at 70 but had to cut one to 67.
5
Why are Canadians not boycotting greed instead of asking government to control corporations?
5
Seriously? You want to use the biggest joke in Ottawa as your last stand? The Supreme Court isn't even going to consider hearing anything. Not even the appeals by the organizers after they get their jail sentences.
5
@xixi5700 Did he make a video selling BS? Stop deflecting.
5
No. Look in the pockets of the retail barons and you'll find the reason for price increases.
5
Yup. nothing about global warming involved here.
5
So while you want to drive every workers wage up you then complain the prices go up and all the costs go back to you. When did Canada become the land of entitlement and constant whiners for the cost of it.
4
He aggressively pursued her on her side of the pole to create to situation.
4
Small minds focus on small and nonsense issues.
4
We don't have a constitution.
