Vancouver could possibly benefit from this as its very similar to Stockholm. right now we only have one current toll bridge (brand new) which is on a major highway... the port mann and the potential for another (replacing the tunnel with a bridge...) which would also be tolled, which was already tolled once before whats happening? most drivers avoid the port mann instead opting to take the older much dated putello bridge. if were gonna do this we should do so similar to stockholm every bridge/tunnel have a small "congestion" charge for peak periods rather then tolling single new bridges 5 bucks a pop. plus our transit system needs better management. we recently had a vote to increase sales tax to 0.5 to improve transit... no side won largely because no one trusts our transit organizers... too heavy management makes way too much does too little and is not stating to see cuts within the organization... IMO needs a complete rehaul for this to work

  4. thats always nice! always having a place to come back would be great... if your open to traveling you can find a company and a camp job where you can fly in and out and always come back. also check out the unions- if you have your tickets + experience and they have work your generally get in easier then someone without, I've heard ideally for every 4 jorneymen to one apprentice. you can teach the young mates without fear of job loss. worse case you can always sell and travel... harder for an older guy... you'll find the value of your place has to do with the value of the land, where you are, kind of work in town etc

  9. the "Bill and Ted" (hey what do you know movie culture difference) issue may be the greatest one to come. I see more bills and less teds as it splits Mcafees view on this is hopeful however, but we need to be aware of whats happening and change stigmas and ideas of social precutions

  11. while its true that underwater welders make a lot of money.... they do not make that much and they work WAY more hours then that.plus you need special diving training to be certified to do it a lot of trades may be relegated to automation... but its important to think creativity and build with hands

  13. Wow....5 fuckin years ago today.... I'm up all night because I can't sleep due to having symptoms...and every health care professional is like "oh.you don't have it your just stressed out" when I have walking penomenia and angina and I've NEVER EVER had this symptoms before.I was getting better until day 10 then boom it gets worse . 29 years old.im sacred cause I'm losing sleep and I know that's super bad for immune system...but I can still breathe thank fuckin God. Gates talked about this 5 years ago and what to do to combat it...and now were in the middle of one, with no efficient way of testing in the West and STILL many deny how completely f*** up this is. This isn't dropping the ball...its like running to the goal line without it

  15. You all think your feeling it. I feel for a girl who was going through heartbreak with an addict. She put all her attention towards me and then pulled it away and rejected me shortly after. I feel like such a loser despite not even it lasting that long- flew too close to the sun
