Smash bros is the tennis of esports- a more established game then others, relies less on a team And more on how many stocks an individual player can volley per match, per set, per game. Also the new game changes often (now it's stagnant with one or two characters domainating the meta) but melee hasn't changed in 21 or so years. Truly grass roots
