  6.  @simona_merkinin  A human being is more than a lump of medical needs, people need excitement too, and having a smoke and a drink is the cheapest, most basic form of excitement one can get. This is why poor people are the most likely to waste money on stuff like cigarettes, alcohol, junk food, etc. They're surrogates for meaning and self-respect. That's my opinion.
