It's not like anyone will have less money from now on because of this. Freaking relax.

I also think we should start using more washable period products. It's better for the environment and cheaper.

@TimmyVision A sock for a pad doesn't work as well. That's why so many women and girls around the world are missing out on education and work.
5
@teamholmez86 Why don't you start carrying your own toilet paper, water, soap, paper towels and air freshener to public toilets then. And also clean and repair them. Why should I pay so you can take a crap?
4
Toothpaste isn't that important and not having toilet paper won't confine you to your house for up to two weeks sometimes. You can borrow a roll from neighbors or wash yourself under the shower as a last resort. Plus, toilet paper is already free in public places.
4
@NemeczeK101 No no! We need all that money to make weapons to kill people in other countries! And don't forget the Queen! Do you expect her to have a job and to live in a regular house, drive a regular car and eat regular food just like the rest of us?!! (Just kidding I can't afford a car)

Public water closets: yes Toilet paper: yes Water: yes Soap: yes Paper towels or blow dryers: yes Trashbins for used paper towels: yes Air freshener: yes Light: yes Heating: yes Daily cleaning: yes Repairs: yes Little bins in women's rooms for used period products: yes Dispensers with tampons and pads: NOOOOOOO! That will destroy our civilization and unleash ten thousand years of darkness!

@Allan Reford But-but-but playing society's conscience and making people feel stupid feels sooooooo good.....
3
@NemeczeK101 Just imagine! Society spending money on basic physical needs and dramatically improving people's quality of life! What has this world come to!
3
Maybe because some people will waste water for fun or out of laziness, something that's probably not going to happen with period products
2
Do people miss out on education, work and social life because they can't pay for water?
2
Don't be such a drama queen
2
Behold, six of Satan's demons have already entered the world through public toilets. Their names are: Toilet Paper, Soap, Water, Paper Towels, Air Freshener and Daily Cleaning. When humanity genuflects to the seventh demon of Tampons and Pads, Satan and all his minions will ascend from Hell and unleash ten thousand years of torture on the sinners who had foolishly let them in! 👹👹👹
2
@hatespeach1984 Repent and reject your sins before it's too late! Carry your own toilet paper, water, soap, and air freshner!
2
@hatespeach1984 For penace, you can poop in a bag for a few weeks. Just imagine how much taxpayer money you'll save on all that flushing water!
2
@misc.endeavours8343 We can't change the past, just the present and the future.
2
Even if you work, the gov't forces your employer to pay you a minimum wage so you can pay your bills, and to give you a safe work environment so won't get sick or injured and unable to work. And don't forget the NHS that treats you when you're sick or injured, and roads, pavements, streetlights and public transit so you can get to your job quickly and safely. Without gov't support and regulation we wouldn't be able to do anything.

🤣🤣🤣
2
The same people who pay for toilet paper, water, soap, paper towels, air freshener, daily cleanings and repairs of public toilets.
1
Shut up snowflake. You're being cringy.
1
@robinjones5874 Actually, water is free in public toilets.
1
I don't think anyone said anything about manufacturers not getting any payment
1
@unclesleven7256 Or edgy and rebellious
1
Your great-grandfathers never paid for water closets, toilet paper, soap, water and air freshener -- they used wooden shithouses and old newspapers. Which they first used to wrap fish and chips in. What's your excuse?
1
Can't you use regular pads for that
1
@misc.endeavours8343 Incontinence is a medical problem, not a normal physical need like light, heating, water, pooping, peeing and periods though.
1
@misc.endeavours8343 I wouldn't need reparation if this was introduced in my country. You can't have it all.
1
@misc.endeavours8343 Modesty I guess
1
@misc.endeavours8343 When you're given something you could have used for a long time already, you don't complain about not having been given it earlier. Especially when it's a collective gift to millions of people, that cannot possibly be given to everyone exactly when they need it.
1
And our toilet paper, water and soap!
1
Water in public toilets is free. Along with toilet paper, soap, paper towels or blow dryers, air freshener, daily cleaning and repairs.
1
Sometimes there's even music
1
Then what's the problem?
1
@Saradomian Ikr. I just googled it and they have flowers, stars and even little owls on them. Defo gonna get myself some (when I have some spare money 🤣🤣🤣)
1
@Fireglo It's better than old newspapers, which I had to use as a child...
1
Companies also don't give toilet paper, soap, water, paper towels, air freshener, light, heating, cleanings and repairs for free. And we still have them in our public toilets. I'm sure we can do the same with tampons and pads, freaking relax.
1
@hatespeach1984 Dispensers with tampons and pads next to toilet paper dispensers will lead to genocide? 😂😂😂
1
The gov't already subsidizes these things, and if you're on welfare they're completely free.
1
@taylotmackay-reid8857 🤪🤪🤪
1
@IlIIlIIIIIlBrianSt0rm Should we also carry our own toilet paper, water, soap and paper towels everywhere we go? How about poop bags? Sounds a lot cheaper than waterclosets with all the water and daily cleanings paid for by our taxes.
1
Lol

Don't be such a drama queen
1
@smeechdog I didn't respond to his pun but to his claim that free period products will be a big burden on the taxpayer. If our £67 million a year royal family doesn't "bleed us dry" then sure as hell free tampons for all women won't.
1
@timomarkson I think shaving blades should be free. And other necessities too.
1
Jeff 525 Hopefully one day we'll have a rational and humane society where everyone will have access to all the things they need
1
Jeff 525 Just like millions died from capitalism ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
1
Jeff 525 Yeah ppl die I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
1
Jeff 525 Let's make people pay for every 100 meters they walk on the pavement. Using tax money to maintain pavements is communism and will kill a lot of people.
1
All public buildings have free or virtually free toilets with toilet paper, soap, water, paper towels or a blowdryer, a trash bin where you put your used paper towels, light, heating, daily cleanings and air freshner. But adding a tampon and pad dispenser to every women's toilet on top of all that will destroy civilization and unleash a thousand years of darkness!
1
@timomarkson I've thought about it and the comparison with razors doesn't make sense. A razor isn't something you need outside your house so you're in trouble if you can't pay for it or forgot it. We already have free public toilets with free toilet paper, water, soap, paper towels, air freshener, daily cleaning and repairs. Why shouldn't we add tampons and pads to women's toilets?
1
@xXevilsmilesXx Period products are a Third World problem. Millions of girls and women miss out on school and work, or even get excluded from society altogether because they don't have period products. In rural Nepal, women are forced to stay in special huts when they're on their periods, and these places can be dangerous. There was a case of a 15 y/o girl who died in there. If you think period products are a luxury you're a spoiled and naive First World person who has no idea about people's needs and problems.
1
@timomarkson Also, women need period products not just for themselves but for other people too. Nobody will be bothered if you don't shave yourself for a few days, but can you imagine being around women who are menstruating without tampons or pads? We use them for you too!
