  5.  @LunaLapin-ho5tk  That's an excellent point. I spent the first 10 years of my life (1989-99) in Russia, and went to school there for 3 years. When I moved to Western Europe with my mother, I basically skipped an entire school year to learn the native language, then joined the native children at a regular school and did better than average. My school in Russia didn't even have flush toilets. Meanwhile, 54 percent of US adults read below a 12-year old's level, according to a 2020 study by the US Department of Education. Despite how technologically advanced the US is. So weird.
