Why? Where I'm at you could still pick up your food and have it delivered to your house. Although supermarket sales did go up dramatically.

@Aidan Collins I like coffee, green tea, rooibos tea, beer, wine, peanuts, oregano, cumin, basil, oatmeal, olives, broccoli, cauliflower, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, lentils, turkey, pineapple and squid. All things I had never had in my native Russia and sometimes only tried as an adult. And I still like them. I guess I'm a weirdo.

I think it's sad how people today have to defend what they want and like by showing that it existed in the past. The ancient Egyptians, Romans, medieval Europeans and Victorians did what they wanted based on what they liked and needed, if technology allowed them too. Today you have to show that something you do or think existed in the past, to defend yourself from accusations of being a shallow modern narcissist living in a false reality created by evil corporations, coming from self-proclaimed traditionalists who are really just bullies. Makes you wonder who was truly free, us moderns or our ancestors.

Fun fact: people always did things the easiest way possible, it's just that technology was primitive so their easiest way was hard for us. There's nothing wrong with not liking drudgery.
