Why would you want to get closer to your classmates and make friends? School is for learning. For gaining knowledge and getting bigger and stronger intellectually. Socializing seems like a waste of time.

@Starforme-xr6sb Because socializing is the opposite of learning. Your classmates are a separate subject, and the more you focus on them, the less time and attention you have left the get to know mathematics, the human body, chemistry, the earth, and other subjects you get to study in school.

@Karl-dd4om Because most parents don't have the time and knowledge to homeschool their children? That's the reason why you need to go to college to become a teacher and specialize in one subject. Or a few at most.
