The court heard that her family had encouraged her to put her heating on, and told her not to worry about the bills, but she would not listen."

@Jartran72 Don't blame him, we live in an autistic society where people often forget that there is such a thing as being interested in each other, knowing each other and sharing our thoughts and feelings with others. It's easy to assume that people are alone, unimportant, abandoned and forgotten, because most of us are at least to some extent.
