These things to this day are manifestations of the worst parts of capitalism that will never be regulated enough. The meat industry including factory farming is alive and well.   6.  @kev792  market socialism is not necessarily a planned economy, it's not inherent to it whatsoever, and "public ownership" should be replaced with direct ownership of the workers over their workplaces. and markets are not inherent to capitalism. A market is just a system of distribution in which trading is involved, literally before capitalism or states existed they existed. socialism is at it's core simply economic (direct) democracy.

I have no biases against acknowledging that the USSR had legit benefits for its citizens compared to others, but it still was an extremely far cry from socialism and an extremely authoritarian one. Gulags, imperialism, famines, banning of dissent, all the same restrictions of a capitalist state but painted red and the hope of a revolution crushed. The modern Russian state is bad but it’s not like everything just went to shit after the collapse but everything was great beforehand, a lot of it was already shit, things just got even worse generally. You have no idea what people like me are, but you showed your hand. You are sympathetic to authoritarian counter-revolutionary states co-opting socialist rhetoric and pretending anyone that disapproves of such must be wealthy even though the USSR still had a vicious class system.
