  11. I know people are gonna think this is reductive, but it's literally true. That's more or less the origin of the term in political context, to stay awake about the systemic disenfranchisement being caused to people, particularly black people, and to as communities stay aware of them. Goes decades back. And of course some hijacked the term but then the right grasps at any straw it can and balloons it a trillion times larger to have another perceived enemy.
