All the benefits people credit it with, aren’t because the state does it, it’s because the state gatekeeps productive things into the narrow scope of what benefits the state. Get rid of the state, and every social program could still exist if we want and much more, only ran bottom up.

Education on top of that is a fortune for young people who economically have a demonstrably harder time making a living than the previous generation. Education should already be free on top of that. We’re practically victim blaming at this point when all of these problems aren’t caused or perpetuated by the people they’re hurting most, being the students enslaved to their debt.

Everything is treated as if it’s not mandatory including life itself, no basic necessities are covered in this capitalist shithole, its all about how much corporate power is able to extract from people rather than improving society for everyone. We can easily afford free education, the military budget is closing in on a trillion dollars per year. Priorities.
