  1. It is neither a Truck OR a Car . It is a Ute . Short for Utility . A Pick-up built on a Beefed Up Car chassis . Most U.S. Pick-ups are a Light Truck design , vis-a-vis , Full Chassis Frame , Beam Axle up front Etc . Whereas the El Camino is like an Australian style Utility Vehicle aka Ute . Wishbone Front End and a Load bearing Subframe at the back . A Car at the Front and a 1 ton truck at the back . That is a Shitty Design for a Distributor . Awkward as F to work with . The Cap should be located by a Key molded into its Base and engages a Notch in the body . Retained by 2 or 4 (V8) external Spring Clips . 2 or 3 on a Six .
