  7. Those were nice . The NEXT series were a Proper GT car . 24 valve 3.0 litre Engine and some styling changes . Those were FAST .

  8. The Original " Hitler's Revenge " Volkswagen Beetle was similar . About 12 Bolts and Gear linkage pins and you lift the Body off the Engine /Transaxle assembly .

  15. The slight Steering Delay is quite likely the Wire Wheels . They are springy by design , and on that car , them being narrow Rims , the wheels have to " Load Up " before there is a response . Wire wheels are great on a Motorcycle because the Forces stay perpendicular to the Axles for the most part . Not true for a Car . Gorgeous Old Roadster though.........

  17. I have always though that particular Bodyshape series , with the Scalloped Wings , were the nicest looking Jaguar Saloons EVER . I would own an XJ-R in a heartbeat , if I was still driving enough to justify such a car .

  21. FINALLY ! The Manufacturers are doing what was ALWAYS the " Bleedin' Obvious " . All Electric has it's place , sure . But in the REAL WORLD they can't make those have a decent Range . Without trying to sound glib , you can't drive from Paris to Dakar in an EV . But in a HYBRID DRIVE you most likely Can . This was always where this debate would end up at .

  44. Both Gorgeous Classics . The Jaguar would improve DRAMATICALLY handling wise with Solid Disc Wheels . Wire wheels are Pretty , yes , but high maintenance and , quite frankly , WOBBLY . Spokes are fine on Motorcycles , because the Bike leans and maintains Centreline centre of mass , and Spokes have less un-sprung weight . Whereas on a Car those lateral forces create a " Shimmy " in the Spoked wheels . Wiggle Wiggle .

  45. That was the ETERNAL Italian problem back at that time . Absolutely WONDERFUL designs , but construction QA was ATROCIOUS . Plus , I believe , Russian Steel . Did not help Rust issues at all . Also Italian ANYTHING from that Era had Terrible and unfathomable Electrics . Here in Australia Alfetta's were quite popular , despite being a bit Pricey . Never see one at All now . All rusted away I guess .

  46. The DATSUN 240-Z was a Giant Killer . Instant Classic . Beautiful . RELIABLE . Great handler in its time . Rally Winner says it all there really . And that little 2.4 I-6 ended up as the 3.0 Alloy thing in the Skyline Sedans . Very Solid unit . Took Europe on Head to Head and WON . I would love to find an Original 240-Z for sale . Would BUY in a Heartbeat .
