F-1 could never run there due to lack of run-off areas . NASCar not either . Lack of Brakes . It's a great Motorcycle circuit however . Back in the Early 80's Bathurst WAS a bike meet , during Easter long weekend . One year the Police were VERY heavy handed . Started flipping Tents in the FAMILY area , off to the side of the Top Paddock . Out of the way . The Patch Clubs got involved and kicked them OUT . Basically War broke out . The Police barricaded themselves in their Compound . Shitting . Next year the Event was Permanently Cancelled as a result . N.S.W. Police , the best money could Buyyyyyyy .
