  1. When it was built it WAS the most advanced Multi-Role Fighter in the World . First to make SERIOUS use of the Canard configuration too . Worked so well that everyone else basically copied the concept . I'm reasonably sure the Gripen can reverse too . Same Mission statement . Remote Hangar , Small auxiliary Staff contingent . Land on a Road , then reverse into the Shed .
