Well , based on what you said at the end , RCAF requirements . Gripen should be Frontrunner , Super Hornet second .
Gripen is Fastest , Cheapest to run and maintain . Designed for Arctic operations , obviously enough . Swedish Design .
Very short Turnaround time and it is DESIGNED for Short Field operations on poor fields . Can land on Public Roads if necessary .
And a Long Lineage , from the ONE company . Fairly Proven Product .
Super Hornet next fastest . Heaviest Payload and something of a Proven Product .
Costlier to Run and Maintain . Slower Turnaround . Can Possibly be configured for Arctic regions .
F-35 . Very Versatile and Capable , no doubt , but Slowest and not necessarily a Proven Product yet .
In terms of Stealth . F-35 , Gripen , Hornet , in that order . From here , Purchase price and price of Lifetime Ops come into play .

I am a Retired Driver , 34 years , after Military Service . I resisted the Auto-shift Transmissions for a LONG time . Yes , perceived lack of control .
Also , PLEASE , give me a Constant-Mesh (crash) type every time . Thanks . Not at all a Fan of the Euro style " Synchro " (drag-clutch) Boxes .
Once you UNDERSTAND what you're doing , a Crash Box is virtually effortless . Clutch only needed for Starting , and occasionally to get the sequence back , whereas the Synchromesh type require the Clutch for Every Shift . More Laborious and absolutely NOT smoother .
The introduction of Synchro Boxes was because not everyone gets it with how a Crash Box works . I get it , even though it is NOT DIFFICULT really .
Blame the Fear of Crash Boxes on Truck Drivers deliberately " Mystifying " their Craft . This kept candidates OUT of the Industry . Misogynistic B S .
Certainly , only 1 or 2 people in every 100 are psychologically SUITED to Operate a Semi Truck or Multi-Combination , like a Double . That's true .
Anyways...Auto-shifts . I accepted them LATER , providing there WAS a Clutch Pedal AND A Manual Mode for the Box .
Still not as smooth as Me with a Stick , but better than Full Auto . Auto Shifts ARE about Maintenance and Repair costs from Poor Operator damage .
