  1. You got the making of DPRK wrong. "North" did not "secede from the South" as you put it, but US and USSR agreed that the 38th parallel is to be the line between their respective spheres of influence during WW2 as a part of the negotiations about USSR attacking Japan after Germany was defeated. There was no Korea until USA and USSR created their respective satellites on the Korean peninsula.
