He fetishes tech as if it will progress or even be able to be maintained at current standards into a post-collapse future. His answer in the comments was "it'll all be automated and take no mantainance/manpower/economies of scale/innovators etc..." Tech advancement and population growth are tied to the hip. You need lots of people for tech. There isn't going to be some group of drone wielding people exploring the ruins of a collapsed civilization. You're just a techno-sci-fi fetishist at this point
