  2. I think it may help increase Chromebook/Mac sales. most non-tech savvy people have never heard of Linux and pretty much no computer you buy from a store has a linux distro pre-installed. And again, most non-tech savvy people are going to look for linux-specific machines if they don't eve know linux even exists.

  3. I can assure you most non-tech savvy people will not move to Linux since they have no idea that even exists. Most people only know about Windows PCs, Macs, and Chromebooks. When was the last time you saw a PC in-store for sale that shipped with a Linux distro? I know you can buy PCs from most major manufacturers with Linux, but they're not very well advertised and most people aren't going to even know how to look for that. And then you have the issue about familiarity. Some people hate change and moving to a very different looking computer system, even if it is simplified and "easy to use" can be extremely confusing and frustrating to some people. Then you have the issue of program compatibility and so forth.

  4. I would try Ubuntu and Linux Mint. They're generally pretty easy to use. The cool thing about most linux distros is that you can create a Live USB meaning you can test out the system without committing to install it on your computer. Just note that with everything new, there is generally a learning curve. If you have a laptop, you may have more issues than if you were using a desktop computer though.

  6. How is that going to help? Most people who buy computers who aren't tech savvy and/or interested in learning about computers will be extremely lost and frustrated trying to use a PC with no OS. They're not going to understand how to create a USB installer and boot from it and install an alternate system.
