The first and last IP addresses of a subnet are the network address and broadcast address respectively. Both are reserved and cannot be used for host devices. In other words, in your example, the first useable IP address is 48.25.24.1

The problem is that it varies greatly depending on the router you have. Typical home routers are somewhat limited when it comes to advanced networking features. They may have some of the features, but their implementation may be limited or not very good. See if you can install a 3rd party firmware like DD-WRT or Tomato or similar. That will let you have much more functionality compared to the stock firmware. These projects have many different brands and models they support, so chances are somewhat decent that your router will work. However, doing this does come with an inherent risk of damaging the router if the flashing goes wrong. Its impossible to give an exact guide that works for every single router in the world, because as I said, different manufacturers do things differently. Some routers may not support most of these features.

lmao. Its not that deep dude.

lmfao dude. Of course. What is illegal about learning about networks? Linux is used world-wide.

That makes no sense dude. If your virtual machine is powered off, it isn't using any resources other than storage. Its just like a real computer. If the computer is off, it isn't using CPU or RAM.

Even if he does "see" your comment, what do you expect him to do? he's not a magician. He can't magically get your account back. Any "hacking" attempts are still illegal regardless of your justification.

Likely no. The physical wiring and infrastructure is usually installed by an outside contractor. This all depends on where you work though. Some places may have an internal facilities team that can run the cabling and terminate it. Other places may not have that and need to contract outside. Other times, it may be a bit of both. Where I work, we have one of our low-voltage guys run ethernet cables if its less than about 10 runs. Anything more than that, we get a contractor to do the job. People with CCNAs and networking jobs usually do the software-side of the network like the planning and configuration and upkeep. It never hurts to learn how to do some basic wiring though.

Because its helpful to understand the math behind subnets to effectively use a calculator.
