  3. 🤣🤣I deal with a lot of those issues regularly at work. I had a staff member say her monitors weren't coming up (We use laptops and dock stations that connect to a monitor). I drive to the main office only to find that the dock's power cable was not plugged into the power strip..... And these are the people who always say "I've checked everything and it still doesn't work!" when in fact, they checked nothing.

  4. I would suggest Jeremy's IT Lab. He has a complete CCNA course on YT and its free. Some of the videos are quite long and there are many videos in the playlist, but it is good. He may not be as cheerful or enthusiastic as NWC, but it is good information and more importantly, complete.

Your printer needs paper in order for the "out of paper" light to turn off". 🤦🤦 Or "Ma'am. You have to push the power button on the monitor and computer in order for them to power on."🤦🤦🤦

  8. Yep. In order for a network to work correctly, there has to be a standard communications protocol. That's why practically all modern computers, phones, tablets and internet connected devices use TCP/IP. There were alternatives to TCP/IP many years ago, but they have largely been made obsolete by TCP/IP.

  9. My advice is to watch other channels. NWC has a very long way to go to finish this series. I suggest looking at channels like David Bombal or Jeremey's IT lab. They may not be as fun and engaging as NWC, but they are definitely much more informative and complete.

  11. If you mean wireless access point, then no. They're primarily a L2 device since they bridge wireless devices to a wired network. Some APs may have some more advanced features that may operate at higher OSI layers.

  12. Yep. It would technically be the IP address of the web server and not a DNS address. DNS address would refer to the DNS server. As you will quickly realize, its not easy or ideal to type in numbers, that's why we have domain names.

  13. It is free, but far from "professional". Not to talk bad about the guy, but his series is very far from being complete. I don't think its fair for him to call it "CCNA" if there isn't much Cisco-specific stuff here. The information is great, but he hasn't gone over the Cisco specific things you need to know for the CCNA. He hasn't even gone over how to setup a Cisco router and a switch.

  15. There's a playlist on his channel for this series. His series is far from being complete though so you want to use other resources. He's a good presenter, but he doesn't really go in-depth. He calls this a "CCNA" course, but he hasn't really gone over a lot of topics nor has he gone in-depth. Its ok if you just want to learn the general information, but if you want to understand the why, you'll need to look elsewhere.

  19. Assuming you are using Packet Tracer, you would need to manually configure the router and its interfaces. Cisco IOS routers aren't like your typical home router where you have a fancy web interface. You have to configure them using a command line interface and typing in commands. That is what you will be doing if you decide to pursue a Cisco certification.

  21. Nope. You want to use other resources as well. He's a good presenter, but at least so far, this course is far from being complete. He gives you a very good high-level overview of different topics, but he doesn't go very in-depth as he should for calling it a CCNA course. He hasn't really gone over any Cisco-specific stuff like commands and concepts. There's still a lot (and I do mean a lot) of topics he hasn't covered, or if he did, it was brief. Things like subnetting, routing protocols, switching, VLANs, ACLs, NAT, and actual configuration are missing.
