I average about 0.2-2 Mbps on Verizon's incomprehensibly 'fast' pseudo-5G in my home. I know that true 5G can be blazing fast, but at least in my town, Verizon has done a crap job deploying it. We don't have UWB 5G. The most I've ever gotten in my town is about 60 Mbps.

it depends on your internet plan, network clients, and network equipment. Most typical home routers and PCs support 1 Gbps (1000 Mbps) over Ethernet. If you have a 1 Gbps fiber connection, you can get close to those speeds with the correct computers and cabling. Over Wi-Fi, you likely won't get close to 1 Gbps unless you have the latest wifi router and devices that support those fast speeds AND are close to the router.

In my town in California, we're supposed to be getting a company that claims they will install fiber in pretty much every home and business in town. I can't wait to get rid of Comcast.

There are still plenty of parts in the US that have substandard internet access. There's a neighborhood not too far from my old high school where the fastest speed they can get through AT&T is up to 768 Kbps for about $55/month.

Its better than AT&T's legacy DSL service they have abandoned and better than their U-Verse copper-fiber hybrid mess.
