  1. I don't know about you, but cycling when its 100+ F (~37 C+) is not very fun at all. It gets pretty hot here in California during the summer. Not particularly pleasant being outside.

  2. I took the bus for the summer semester at my local community college about 7 years ago. It was miserable. The bus stop from my house is about a mile away, not too bad. However, the bus took on average 70 minutes to go about 7 miles 3 towns over to its destination which is the college. It made a lot of stops which I see as both good and bad as it allows people to get on at many points in the route, but bad because it slows things down a lot. It was a massive help when I got my own car. I average 25 minutes even with moderate traffic and it made things much easier for me. I only paid $1/way on the bus, but wasting 2 hours daily on the bus commute 4 days a week is just not worth it to me.
