  1. I have an 01 Taurus (no manual transmission available for this one), with the Vulcan engine and I can attest to it's longevity and reliability. In the 3 years I've owned the car (and nearly 30k miles), I've never had any issues with the engine itself. It currently has 207k miles on it and it still runs fine. Sure it isn't powerful or fuel efficient, but it works.
