  1. I learned this 12 years ago as a teenager. I bought a metal concert from iTunes for about $15. Everything was fine until I got a new device a few years later and I tried re-downloading that concert. I realized I couldn't find it in the purchased section. As a matter of fact, I couldn't even find it by searching for it in the store. I contacted iTunes support and even sent them my original receipt and they told me there was nothing they could do as the copyright owners (or something along those lines) removed the video from the store. They couldn't tell me if it would eventually be put back on or even offer a refund or credit. It sucked because it was a $15 digital purchase that just disappeared and I had no recourse. Several years later, the concert was re-instated in the iTunes store and it showed up on my account again. It was still an annoyance. I was fortunate that at one point, I had made a backup of my old iPod touch and the video file was among those backed up. I still needed to sign in with my Apple ID since the file was DRM protected, but I was able to still watch it on my new device. Had I not made a backup, I would have lost that file for years until it was put back onto the store.
