  1. I haven't quite done these types of trips in the USA, but my family would drive from Northern California down to Central Mexico. Its about 2000 miles. We drive just under 1000 miles in the USA to Nogales, AZ and another 1000 miles south into Mexico. Its amazing seeing how the scenery and weather changes in California, Arizona, Sonora, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, and Michoacan.

  2. We're only getting taxed to death (at least in California) for road "repairs" yet they're still horrid. But as horrid as California roads are, they're much nicer than in Mexico.
