  1. ^^This. None of the Linux fanatics ever talk about this. They just say "oh its so easy to install Linux on your PC". Most non-tech savvy people will likely never be able to do it. And pretty much non computer that most people would buy comes with Linux preinstalled. And that's assuming your average PC user even knows about Linux (which pretty much no one knows about this lunix thing). When was the last time anyone saw an ad for a Linux PC on TV? When was the last time anyone saw a pre-installed Linux PC in store? I know there are online retailers that sell PCs with Linux, but no average PC user has ever heard of System76 or TuxedoPCs and no person is going out of their way to look for Linux PCs from HP or Dell or Lenovo.

  2.  @AramJonghu  That's true in the sense you can do a lot of with the command line. But no one cares about that. If you're trying to convince the regular PC users to use Linux, that's not it. It will turn off most people.

  3. Even where I live in California, hardly anyone uses Linux. Most non-tech savvy people just use a standard Windows laptop or a Mac or a tablet.

  4. The linux fanatics will just tell you to move to opensource equivalents and not care about the potential wasted time relearning and resetting up your systems.

  5. I agree. I installed Linux Mint on my HP Omen laptop 5 years ago. It was a massive PITA to get the hybrid graphics system to work. installation was quick and painless. But after that, it was nothing short of a nightmare. And of course, the "friendly" Linux community was berating me for using Nvidia.... I know the issue is mainly with Nvidia not playing nice with Linux systems, but it was still annoying having to type in cryptic command after cryptic command from ancient forum posts in an attempt to fix things. I eventually got things sorted out after many days researching across various forums, but man it sucked.
