I’m unable to comprehend how a ‘tax cheat’ can be treated so leniently. He’s effectively attempted to steal £3.7m from the Exchequer of the country he purports to love. What’s the sentence for attempted theft of that magnitude?

It’s amazing that this Govt keeps prattling on about delivering when the only things it’s actually delivering are the largest energy price increases in the western world by a country mile and tankers loads of poo into our rivers and coastlines.

Impressed with the way Mick Lynch has swiftly and calmly dismantled absurdly dumb questions from so called journalists and dishonest Govt politicians
67
Wish the MSM would stop trying to make a big deal about President Musk’s policies.
32
Sunak’s already said he’s going ahead regardless….
31
For someone terminally ill and in pain it should obviously be an option. I have a parent with dementia who is virtually blind has very limited mobility. She is existing not living. If she had capacity she would expect me to take her to Switzerland
23
Do we all really know that much about all our neighbours? We do know that our Govt has stated that 76% of asylum seekers are genuine. Face tattoo man made me smile…..I know, books and covers , but even so……bit ironic.
22
Is it just me, or are we lightyears past the point of parody where Brexit is concerned?
18
Yes it’s like Dumb and Dumber.
17
Privatisation……great. Cutting red tape…….increasing sewage…..fab Paying shareholders…..not feasible
16
It concerns many that such a thing as ‘the muslim vote’ exists. An observation.
14
What's Sunak actually doing, as distinct from saying? One of the defining characteristics of Brexitory Govts is that yap a lot but do very little - like when the P&0 Seamen lost their jobs. Tories have never cared about the vulnerable and downtrodden....this is lip service for political capital.
14
Nigel’s supporters are fed up of being called racists- he’s just a patriot and the left are trying to cancel the poor wiccle thing
12
It's all good. Our Govt got into power on the mandate of looking after the small people, the downtrodden and disadvantaged. The Brexitories are patriots and have the interests of ordinary working people at heart - that's why you voted for them. What we need is a few new rousing slogans - that'll sort you out. And don't forget, we're not controlled by Brussels now, so our Govt is free to help us.
12
Slippery Sunak won't be affected - 'we' amuses given the colossal wealth of the former Goldman Sachs banker. Has he completed the Members Register of Interests fully? More like of a Members Register of Conflict of Interests though, isn't it?
10
Brexit is the problem
10
They’re not condemning the slaughter in Gaza - the notion that Hammas can be defeated by slaughtering innocents is mental…..isn’t it ?
10
Good luck to the NHS staff.
10
Failing to deal with the backlog was even more stupid or entirely deliberate.
8
Why? Because Brexit has been such a phenomenal success? Do you understand what’s actually happened?
8
Raab’s a victim of being massively over- promoted. He demanded the sort of rigour that would require a Brexit Minister to be intimately familiar with the significance of Dover. Or to answer the phone call on a Greek beach as FO Minister ref the emergency evac of Afghanistan. Cretinous, inept, unaccountable and plain dumb
7
an immigrant billionaire
6
Not like Oswald ‘Coutts Bank’ Farage the Dulwich College Old Boy from a sink Estate, eh??? Berk.
6
The Govt is perfectly happy that this is causing plebs to argue. It deflects from appalling Govt shortcomings and creates support for it’s potty schemes - the ones it know damn well will face substantial legal challenge. ‘Save our village’ absurd hyperbole - reminiscent of Trumpveg.
5
That’s precisely why we need to make friends in EU
5
Oooooh it’s a bigly conspiracy…..
5
Maybe not but let’s be sensible privatisation has been an unmitigated disaster….
5
So does Sugar. What’s your point?
4
I was sceptical about the advice of Brexitory Ministers and MP’s but i was wrong. Got myself a better paid job, can’t believe I was working for half as much on Monday. The out of the blue I found a shop called Aldi that sells cheaper own brand food. And the cherry on the cake, so to speak, was the fabulous Cold Grass Soup from Lee Anderson Fab ‘Top 100 30pence meal recipes!
4
What were Ernst & Young doing up to 2018? Anyone know?
4
Simplistic superficial Cult of Personality is so dangerous.
4
Privatising essential infrastructure meant forming dysfunctional cartels ‘regulated’ by cosmetic gum-bashing NGO’s that the Brexit Govt promised topop on their bonfire. We were promised cheaper prices, greater efficiency and freedom from tax burdens
4
Appreciate expressing our solidarity with Sweden and Finland but Johnson is not Commander-in-Chief of The World Police. Tories makes cuts….always…..it’s all they know and that includes our armed forces.
4
This is the irony of whining about two tier Kier when these disgusting blood ‘sport’ Establishment toffs can get away with murder. The sense of entitlement amongst these privileged prats and the land owning ‘farmers’ is breath taking. They make me sick to the core.
4
Anderson ‘wants his country back’ but has never stipulated precisely what that means? He may as well say Brexit means Brexit!
4
Why wasn’t The Establishment Corporate Tory Govt WEF? Any idea?
4
We have to build bridges with our European neighbours after the debacle that was Brexit. And it’s not just the Chinese deploying socialist protectionism……it’s the Clown in Waiting of ‘The Home of the Free Market’!
3
Main thing is Sky gives him publicity.
3
Priest eh? Ruthless amoral Corporate vampire.
3
The Tories have engineered a situation where reliance upon the private sector has become necessary. The privateers charge higher prices and cream off the high volume non complex work! Still at least we have 40 new hospitals thanks to Boris Johnson.
3
Oh no ……we lose the obscenely greedy parasitic leeches……that would be a disaster!
3
Who would you vote for assuming the ultra fraudulent Tories are also obviously out of the question?
3
Ooh yessss…..whaddya expect from Tories who don’t have to use them?
3
The UK electorate voted overwhelmingly for the most dishonest inept and unaccountable PM and Govt in history. 75% of the Tory Party have had spine removals.
3
There are probably behind the scenes complexities I can’t appreciate but it does seem wasteful that the pension threshold increases could not have targeted The single employer/pension fund for Doctors only.
3
Rees-Mogg is the last politician who should be pointing fingers. He’s supercilious yet stupid, talks with an air of authority about that which he know nothing, and has done his utmost to debase the Parliamentary standards he was supposed to uphold. A devout catholic contraceptive investor. Yeah.
3
So much for The Tory Story about Private Sector Efficiency eh? How many times does it have to fail before the Tories accept reality?
3
Sack the bent chairman first. The get the Govt to apologise to Lineker for wrongful dismissal. Perhaps Linker will then be able to contribute to the New Statesman given that Neil edited The Spectator?
3
Is that an International Human Rights Act?
2
People are speaking as if the BBC has a shred of independence. How obvious does it have to be that it’s a State Controlled TV channel .
