  1. Yeah alcohol and the withdrawals aren't a joke. Your poor friend. I'm sorry. Alcohol killed me in 4 years of heavy drinking. I started getting hepatic encelopathy about six months before I finally went into quit on May 2022. At the time I didn't know what it was. Thought I was having a seizure. Yet the doctors at the ER kept saying I only drank too much, because they don't listen. As an alcoholic you tend to get pretty good at knowing what you need to function versus getting hammered. Anyway when I quit. My body crashed and I was in the hospital all of 2022. Lost my kidneys after a three day coma. Kept getting life threatening infections. Was lower than 85 pounds. No one thought I'd make it, including myself, but I just kept waking up doing what I could do. Now I'm stabilized on the transplant list. Still feel like total garbage, and limited physically, but I really did do a miraculous turn around. I'll take that. Anyway doctors can suck. The fact they weren't listening to me, and the symptoms were so obvious is astounding. If they told me I was getting hepatic encelopathy I would have sped up my timeline to quit. I kept pushing it back thinking it what is a year - takes 20 years of heavy drinking before end stage cirhossis. Oh boy I was dead wrong. Quit ahead while you can folks who are drinking.
